The Dairy Council for Northern Ireland hosted a Sports Nutrition seminar on the evening of the 10th November at W5, Belfast
Professor Craig Sale from Manchester Metropolitan University discussed diet and bone health in athletes including the role of milk and dairy foods. Conor Raleigh, University of Limerick, looked at the implications of a low carbohydrate diet for bone.
We will also had practical sports nutrition insights for soccer from Dr Emma Tester, Head of Nutrition at Tottenham Hotspur FC and Marissa Callaghan, captain of the NI Women’s Squad for Euro 2022.
The seminar was chaired by Professor Sharon Madigan, Head of Performance Nutrition, Sport Ireland Institute.
