World School Milk Day 2024

World Class’! Pupils celebrate World School Milk Day.

Wednesday 25th September is World School Milk Day and the pupils of St Bride’s Primary School in Belfast enjoy a glass of milk to celebrate the return of the school term and with it, the return of breaktime milk!

A refreshing drink of milk at breaktime can help beat thirst and provide a powerful boost to meeting children’s nutrient needs. A 189ml carton of school milk will provide more than half of a Key Stage 1 child’s calcium, phosphorus, iodine and vitamin B2 and vitamin B12 requirements and around a third of their protein needs.

Find out more on the benefits of school milk and download our ‘Milk and More’ booklet about eating well throughout the school day.
